FAQs

  • Are your mugs handmade?

Yes. Every piece is individually wheel-thrown, trimmed, glazed, and fired by hand in Kansas. Because they’re handmade, slight variations in size, glaze, and texture make each piece unique.

  • Where are your mugs made?

All pottery is handcrafted in at my home studio in Kansas.

  • Why do no two mugs look exactly alike?

    1) I’m not a robot or a factory that mass produces ceramics. 2) Handmade pottery and kiln-fired glazes naturally produce subtle variations that give each piece its own character. 3) Custom bulk orders: I strive to get each peace as identical as possible using measuring tools however, you can expect mild differences.

  • Are your mugs microwave safe?

Yes, unless otherwise noted on the product page.

  • Are your mugs dishwasher safe?

Yes. Hand washing is recommended to help preserve the finish for many years.

  • Do you make custom mugs?

Yes. I create custom mugs for military units, first responders, businesses, and special occasions. Contact me to discuss your project.

  • Can you recreate a military patch or logo?

In many cases, yes. I can work with your artwork or unit insignia, provided you have permission to use it if required. I then vector a 2d image into a 3D stamp using various software tools.

  • Can you make other non-military ceramic pieces.

Absolutely. I have made many other functional wares like giant Dutch ovens to butter dishes as well as special pieces for weddings and other events. Love me a good challenge.

  • How long do custom orders take?

Production time varies between a few weeks to a few months, depending on the project and current workload. I’ll provide an estimated completion date before work begins.

  • How long will my order take to ship?

Most in-stock items ship within a few business days.

  • Do you ship internationally?

    No

  • What if my mug arrives damaged?

Contact me within 48 hours with photos of the packaging and the damaged item, and I’ll work with you to make it right.

  • What kind of clay do you use?

I use high-quality stoneware clay that is fired for strength and everyday durability. Clays vary between B-Mix and Buff. Sometimes a mix of both used as reclaim.
